ONNAIS Iron SE Biometric Gun Safe
3.0/5 Best Safe Score (how we score)
My lowest-cost pick: a light fingerprint box with a keypad and a key, sized for two pistols. I'd buy it to keep a handgun away from kids and visitors, not to stop a burglar, because the shell is 1.2 mm steel.

Who it's for
- Lowest-cost pick in Best Gun Safe Under $300 – 5 Picks for Long Guns, Bedside and Car: Tight budgets and second handguns that need a locked box in a drawer or car; screw it down or cable it, because it is easy to carry.
- Best budget fingerprint gun safe in Best Gun Safe for Women – 5 Compact Picks Sorted by Weight and Entry: For a woman who wants fingerprint access at the lowest cost and may move the box between home and car; the 1.2 mm steel shell keeps kids and visitors out but is not a burglary safe, so use the cable or screws.
- Best value in Best Biometric Gun Safe – 6 Fingerprint Picks and a Recall Check: One handgun in a drawer or vehicle at the lowest cost here; it is not water resistant and the thin lid is a quick-access barrier, not a burglary safe.
